A Warwickshire-based interior design consultancy has been acquired by a workplace technology firm headquartered in Berkshire in a deal that expands the buyer’s capabilities and the breadth of services it can offer to clients across the UK and in Europe.
The acquisition sees Squaredot, which was founded in 2000, join SPOR Group. Since it was founded, Squaredot has completed more than 983 projects for clients including Manchester Airports Group, CBRE IM in London, Bristol & Bath Science Park and Savills Birmingham.
Following its acquisition by SPOR Group, Squaredot will continue to operate from its existing Stratford-upon-Avon base, while staff will also be able to make use of SPOR Group’s office in Maidenhead.
Managing Director Kris Krokosz will remain in his role, working alongside business consultant David Kramer, while Chris Gore, co-founder of SPOR Group, will take on the role of group strategic director.
In this role, Gore will support the combined business’ continued development, while helping to identify opportunities to further expand its offering.
Squaredot’s Kris Krokosz said that the deal “brings together complementary expertise, experience and relationships, creating a strong platform for continued growth and development.”
Krokosz continued: "Existing clients will continue to benefit from the knowledge and specialist experience that have been at the heart of the business, alongside the additional resources and opportunities that the acquisition provides."
Chris Gore said that the acquisition was “a natural fit for both businesses”, with the combination bringing together two companies with complementary capabilities, strong customer relationships and talented staff.
He continued: "Our focus has always been on helping organisations get more from their workplace technology, not simply installing equipment.”
"By combining the strengths of SPOR Group and Squaredot, we can broaden the expertise and support we provide to customers while creating an even stronger platform for future growth.”
Gore emphasised the importance of Squaredot’s existing customers continuing to have access to the same staff and specialist knowledge, saying that the retention of Kris Krokosz and David Kramer was a “key part” of the post-deal continuity. He added that the firm’s entry into SPOR Group would provide access to new opportunities to develop and expand its offering.
SPOR Group supports over 1,500 meeting rooms throughout the UK and Europe, with major clients including the NHS and NFL and spanning industries such as recruitment and insurance.
