Complii, a building safety and regulatory compliance group building a portfolio of firms across England and Scotland through a buy-and-build strategy, has expanded with the acquisition of a lift and mobility services provider based in Kent.
The group has acquired The General Lift Company, a Swanley-headquartered company that serves clients from both the commercial and public sectors across London and the South East. The acquisition comes just weeks after Complii’s takeover of Glasgow-based Classic Lifts (Scotland).
Founded in 1986, The General Lift Company’s services span planned maintenance, refurbishment, installation, reactive repairs and 24/7 emergency call-out support.
The deal sees the company join Complii’s lifts and escalators division, with its existing technical and operational leadership teams remaining in place post-acquisition and Managing Director Derek Powis continuing to be actively involved in the business moving forward.
Sarah Dixon, Chief Executive of Complii, commented: "The General Lift Company has built an outstanding reputation across London and the South East, built on decades of technical expertise and genuine care for its customers.”
"Bringing them into Complii strengthens our lifts and escalators division in a region that matters enormously to our growth, and I'm delighted to welcome Derek and the whole team to the Group."
Derek Powis, Managing Director of The General Lift Company, said: "Joining Complii marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for us. As part of a larger group, we gain access to greater scale, resources and support, strengthening our ability to deliver the outstanding service our customers rely on while accelerating the growth we've already been building towards."
Founded in 2019, Complii is an integrated provider of safety and regulatory compliance services across electrical, fire and water, with clients in sectors spanning education, healthcare, social housing, public sector, manufacturing, construction, pharmaceutical and retail.
