Pace Group, a lift maintenance and repair specialist backed by private equity firm LDC, has strengthened its UK-wide presence with a double acquisition. The West Midlands-headquartered business has acquired Shipley-based Bradford Lifts and Aberdeen-based Atlas Lifts.
The two target businesses both specialise in elevator maintenance, bringing additional expertise into Pace Group, which maintains and repairs elevators, service lifts and stairlifts to improve safety, performance and lifespan.
The deals bring a total of 25 employees into the group, taking its overall headcount to 207. The acquisitions increase the group’s core maintained units to approximately 10,000, with 700 units from Bradford Lifts and more than 300 from Atlas Lifts.
Scott Haywood, director at Pace Group, said: "Bradford Lifts and Atlas Lifts each bring highly skilled teams that share our commitment to exceptional customer service and technical excellence. They add meaningful scale in the North and bolster our growing foothold in Scotland.”
"With LDC's continued support, we're building momentum and remain focused on building a premier national elevator maintenance business capable of meeting the evolving needs of customers."
Since Pace Group’s management team, led by directors Scott Haywood and Lukas Schlenker, secured backing from LDC in July 2024, the group has made 17 complementary acquisitions and increased revenue by 65 per cent, from £19.3 million to £32 million in the year ending September 2025.
Matt Newbold, Investment Director at LDC in the West Midlands, said: "What Scott and Lukas have achieved in under two years is hugely impressive - 17 acquisitions, each one building on the group's capabilities and market position.”
Discussing the wave of dealmaking currently occurring in the UK lift maintenance market, Newbold added: "There's significant consolidation still to happen across UK lift maintenance, and the market fundamentals are strong - aging infrastructure, stricter regulations and rising insurance and safety obligations mean demand for specialist maintenance expertise is only increasing. We're excited to keep backing them as they build a platform of scale across the UK."
Lift maintenance M&A is a core driver of a dealmaking surge in the wider UK facilities management sector
