A fleet intelligence data provider has been acquired by a group that manages over 850,000 vehicle connections across Europe. The Moving Intelligence Group’s acquisition of TDS Ultra sees the group, which has its UK headquarters in Stockport, expand its connected fleet platform Echoes.
The deal adds software to the platform that analyses vehicle data from any telematics provider. Echoes is already able to directly connect to any OEM, providing customers with access to vehicle data without the need for any additional hardware.
Following the acquisition, fleet managers will now be able to access a broader range of vehicle data, including information on fleet costs, fuel use and driver risk, via a single platform.
Brighton-based TDS Ultra serves a client base of large enterprise fleets and leasing companies, with a focus on fleet data management, optimisation and reporting. The company’s platform helps finance teams, operational teams and drivers to identify opportunities to reduce risk, cost and emissions.
Mathieu Chènebit, Chief Executive of the Moving Intelligence Group, commented: "TDS Ultra turns fragmented fleet data into actionable insights, whatever the source. Being agnostic, across OEMs, hardware and data providers, is the hallmark of our Group.”
"Together with Echoes, we're building harmonised, AI-driven insights that help the largest European fleets protect their assets and improve their operations."
TDS Ultra founder Chris Stone said: "The need for real intelligence, independent of how the data is delivered, was why we started TDS Ultra. The company will be more future proofed as part of the Moving Intelligence Group."
Paul Railston, TDS Ultra Managing Director, called the Moving Intelligence Group “a European business with proven technology expertise”, adding that the deal would enhance the company’s offering, helping new and existing customers to “continue to make sense of their fleets and people, through better insights from driver and vehicle data."
