Accountancy and advisory firm Streets has expanded with the addition of three new practices in Northern Ireland, the North East and North West. The deals see Hunter Sinton in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, HJ Accountants in North Shields and John Potter & Harrison in Blackpool become part of the group.
Post-acquisition, the three practices will all continue to operate from their existing locations, in order to provide continuity for clients and colleagues, while gaining access to the broader service offering of Streets.
Streets chairman and Chief Executive Paul Tutin said: "For the teams involved, the acquisitions are not simply about growth. They are about protecting the character, culture and personal service that have made each practice part of its local community."
Founded in 1892, John Potter & Harrison has served the Fylde Coast for over 130 years. The ten-strong team, led by senior partner Ian Riding, will continue to serve clients from its offices in Blackpool and Lytham St Annes.
Ian Riding said: "We wanted to find a firm that understood the importance of our heritage and shared our commitment to looking after clients personally. This gives us the opportunity to build on everything that has made John Potter & Harrison successful while creating new opportunities for our clients and our team."
North Shields-based HJ Accountants has been operating since 1988, serving businesses and individuals across North Tyneside and the wider North East. Director Shaun Jubb said that the firm’s conversations with Paul Tutin had provided confidence that becoming part of Streets was the right decision for the business.
He continued: "Joining Streets allows us to continue providing the personal service our clients value while giving them access to a much broader range of specialist expertise."
Hunter Sinton has served Banbridge and the surrounding area since 1946, with many of its clients having been with the firm for generations. More than half of the company’s client base works within agriculture, including businesses in farming and land-letting.
Hunter Sinton director Eamonn Devlin said: "What impressed us most was that Streets understood the importance of remaining local. That gave us confidence that we could continue looking after our clients in exactly the way they have come to expect, while giving our team access to wider opportunities and specialist support. This is about securing the long-term future of the practice for generations to come."
