A West Yorkshire-based creative agency has acquired a local counterpart after its founder and Managing Director decided to retire. Fishtank Agency’s acquisition of fellow Mirfield-based agency Boom Marketing sees four of Boom’s staff join the Fishtank team.
The acquisition of Boom Marketing builds on Fishtank Agency's merger with another Yorkshire firm, PR agency Wild PR, earlier this year.
Boom Marketing, which was founded by outgoing Managing Director Andrew Moore (pictured above, right, with Fishtank Agency founder Damien Fisher) in 2013, offers creative marketing solutions, including graphic design, website design and signage, to support the performance goals of its clients.
The company has built a strong client base across blue-chip, manufacturing, retail and distribution over the past 13 years. While the bulk of its base is located in West Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, it also has clients in the North East, Wales and London.
Fishtank Agency described the acquisition as one that brings together two businesses with shared values and a complementary client portfolio. The addition of the four Boom professionals, meanwhile, is said to bring in print, production and traditional marketing knowledge that will boost the firm’s creative offering.
Andrew Moore and Fishtank Agency founder and Managing Director Damien Fisher had a longstanding relationship prior to the acquisition.
Moore commented: “When I decided to retire, selling the business was never about completing a transaction. I felt a real responsibility to make sure our clients and our team would continue to be looked after and supported.”
