Montcalm International, a healthcare equipment distributor based in Oxfordshire, has been acquired by a private equity-backed multinational counterpart. The deal sees the firm join Winnicare, which is headquartered in France and has UK offices in Bradford.
Montcalm specialises in distributing medical beds to NHS hospitals and hospices. The company, which reported revenues of £2.6 million in its latest financial year, is the exclusive UK partner of Canadian manufacturer Umano Medical.
Winnicare’s acquisition of Montcalm builds on its takeovers of UK firms Herida Medical and Five, as well as following its purchases of France-based Pharmaouest and Scemed. Winnicare is backed by Siparex ETI, a dedicated private equity fund from French firm Siparex.
Winnicare President Laurent Faugère said that the two companies “share a mission to support the UK healthcare system through high-quality products and services.”
He continued: "Thanks to the expertise of the Montcalm team, this acquisition will enable Winncare to offer its customers premium medical beds alongside our solutions for pressure ulcer prevention, fall management, and patient transfer systems."
Alexandre Tremblin, Thomas Oillic and François Bracchi of Siparex ETI added: "This acquisition marks a new milestone in the growth strategy we have been supporting alongside Laurent Faugère and his team since our initial investment in 2021.”
