An award-winning North Lincolnshire pub-restaurant dating back to the 19th century has been put up for sale with an asking price of slightly under £1 million. The Hope & Anchor, which also features five high-quality en-suite letting rooms, is located in South Ferriby and overlooks the Humber Estuary.
The 19th century inn comprises an open plan dining and drinking space, plus a bar, along with an external dining and drinks terrace with elevated views of the Humber. The business, which has a fully fitted commercial kitchen, has established itself as a highly successful local destination venue.
The dining operation offers 120-covers, while the riverside terrace has capacity for up to 75, expanding to around 100 for private events and functions. The pub also has front and rear customer parking, with a total of 45 spaces.
The letting accommodation comprises five en suite rooms in a modern style that still retains the building’s original character. Each room features a double or king size bed complete with coffee machines, flat screen TV and modern shower rooms, while three offer river views.
The Hope & Anchor, which generated turnover of around £1.04 million in the year ending July 2024, is being marketed for sale with an asking price of £995,000 for the freehold.
Christie & Co describe the sale as offering an excellent opportunity for an operator or regional/national pub company to build upon the venue’s strong reputation while potentially exploring further growth opportunities in the food, accommodation and events markets.
Christie & Co Associate Director Alex Rex commented: “The Hope & Anchor is one of the most exciting hospitality opportunities to come to market in the region in recent years. Combining an exceptional waterside setting on the Humber Estuary with an award-winning food operation and quality guest accommodation, the business has built an enviable reputation that extends far beyond North Lincolnshire.”
“We anticipate strong interest from established operators, private buyers and investors looking to acquire a destination venue with proven trading credentials and significant future potential."
