Coventry-based specialist fluid technologies operating partner Flowmax Group has appointed national audit, tax, advisory and consulting firm Crowe to identify M&A opportunities within the UK water sector.
Flowmax focuses on supporting owner-managed businesses. The group, which has more than 25 years of experience, comprises 15 businesses, generating annual turnover of more than £60 million and with over 210 colleagues.
Under the new partnership, Crowe’s corporate finance team will support Flowmax in identifying opportunities to acquire owner-managed SMEs that assemble and distribute products used across water industry applications ranging from wastewater, potable water and sludge treatment, to water quality monitoring and network infrastructure.
The firm will target established SMEs engaged in assembling and distributing fluid management and control products that support critical water infrastructure. It will primarily focus on companies generating revenues of between £3 million and £8 million and that employ approximately ten to 35 staff.
Flowmax Group Chief Executive Graham Morrell said: "Our focus is on specialist fluid management and control businesses and on creating brighter futures for owner-managers and their teams.”

Morrell added that working with Crowe would enable the company to identify targets with a shared focus on specialist fluid management and control, as well as creating opportunities for owner-managers to build with the support of a specialist group.
According to Flowmax, future acquisitions will be considered in instances where there is a strong strategic fit, with deals intended to either strengthen existing operating companies within the group or complement the group more broadly.
