Law firm Clarke Willmott has bolstered its commercial services division with the acquisition of a specialist business immigration practice. Latitude Law guides clients, including business owners, corporates and high net worth individuals, through complex Home Office applications and compliance requirements.
Post-acquisition, the company, which is led by Managing Partner Gary McIndoe (pictured above), will be based at Clarke Willmott’s Manchester office, headed by partner Ed Foulkes.
The Latitude Law team is expected to complete its full integration into Clarke Willmott in early November, with the deal adding a new dedicated UK immigration law capability to the business. In addition to its Manchester office, Clarke Willmott has sites in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Southampton and Taunton.
Clarke Willmott Chief Executive Peter Swinburn described Latitude Law as a firm with “an exceptional reputation in the market” and that has achieved recognition “for delivering first-class immigration advice to businesses and individuals alike.”
Swinburn continued: "Just as importantly, they share our values and our commitment to building trusted, long-term relationships that deliver excellent outcomes for our clients, our people and the communities we serve. This acquisition represents an exciting step forward in our growth strategy and strengthens our ability to support clients with an increasingly important area of law."
Latitude Law’s Gary McIndoe said that the deal was “an exciting and positive next step” for the company, adding that the two firms “share culture, values and vision, and I'm confident that together we can offer our clients an even stronger service."
Ed Foulkes, Managing Director of Clarke Willmott's Commercial Services division, said that the acquisition reinforces the firm’s “continued investment in strategic growth and its commitment to providing clients with a comprehensive range of specialist legal services across the UK” and called the addition of Latitude Law “another important milestone for the Manchester office."
